The chemistry of CBD
In order to explain the main differences between Full Spectrum CBD Oil and Isolated CBD Oil it is important that we understand the chemistry of the plant.
To be specific, the cannabis plant contains almost 500 components , and approximately 100 of them are cannabinoids. CBD is just one of them, and although much research has been done on CBD and THC today, there is still a lot to discover about the cannabis plant.
Full Spectrum CBD
Full-spectrum CBD , with which both CBD oils and creams can be made, is made with the extract that contains all the cannabinoids present in the cannabis plant by its very nature. Of course CBD is among them but also other cannabinoids such as CBN, CBC, CBG, THC in a very low proportion, terpenes, flavonoids and other natural elements.
Full Spectrum CBD oil, as it contains all the compounds found in cannabis, is believed to have a higher therapeutic potential than isolates, and this is due to the entourage effect.
The entourage effect states that the components of cannabis, when they work together, have a greater effect since all cannabinoids work in synergy.
Isolated CBD oil, as its name suggests, only contains CBD. Companies that manufacture CBD achieve this by isolating CBD from cannabis extract through a laboratory process. This means that CBD Isolate only contains one Cannabinoid, CBD. It does not contain THC, CBG or other cannabinoids, which is why it is called CBD isolate.
Research shows that the variety of effects that cannabis produces on the human body comes not just from the individual compounds it contains, but from the way those compounds interact in the body. For example, CBD counteracts some adverse effects of THC, such as anxiety.
Isolated or full spectrum? Which to choose?
Some research has shown that Full Spectrum CBD oil has worked better than CBD oil in relieving various symptoms. The downside is that most of the research has focused on the effects of THC and CBD primarily. When the other cannabinoids begin to be analyzed in greater depth, surely many other qualities can be revealed.
In the oil CBD Isolated, to the not contain other cannabinoids can be a more controlled way of managing CBD as it offers a purity close to 99% and in addition, contain other non – cannabinoid, has no THC.
Full Spectrum CBD oil, however, has greater potential thanks to its entourage effect and will undoubtedly yield great results in future research.
